Students will graduate with self confidence in their knowledge of herbs and how to apply them to many different situations, depending on the individual constitutions and situations of each client.
As with all classes through the Northern California School of Botanical Studies, awareness of trauma and marginalized group considerations will also be a part of the curriculum. For this class, there will be required time in looking at topics such as, how trauma is held in the body and as illness, racial and ancestral trauma, transphobia, abuse, ableism, fat shaming and body positivity, drug addiction, etc. This will be included via guest speakers, videos, and articles to be discussed.
A large focus will also be on undergoing proper research, assessing scientific journals, and using that information properly.
Students will complete 200 hours of supervised clinical experience with their own clients. Students will be mentored with each client on custom formulations and healing strategies.
To join this class, you must pass an entrance questionnaire and interview demonstrating that you have the proper levels of herbal knowledge (300 hours minimum of previous study or the equivalent) to participate.
