The Northern California School of Botanical Studies is a school that provides a thorough education in western herbal medicine based in the foundations of Ayurvedic Healing. We incorporate the most recent herbal studies with Ayurvedic energetics and the Ayurvedic approach to health. Here science is as important as the energetic offerings of plants. We believe it is important for students to be able to use the plants local to their area. So while we do work with Ayurvedic herbs, we also look at the uses of the herbs growing near our communities.
The mission of this school is to educate students on using herbs while also inspiring positive change in their communities and in the world. While this education is intended to create top-level professional and respected herbalists, it is also created to plant seeds in the hearts of all to create more awareness and inclusion in reaching out to those in the community who are underserved and under privileged. We humbly work to provide herbal support in our areas as needed, and encourage students to do the same.
This is a welcome and safe space for people of all gender identities and sexual orientations. This is a welcome and safe space for all ethnicities, and where thoughts on social justice and decolonization are welcome. There are a few modest scholarships for black and brown and indigenous people.
This school is for those who want to feed the revolution. The revolution in healthcare and the herbal world - to remind us that it is everyone's natural right to be healthy and empowered in knowing what their body needs and how to nourish that.
